The Power of A Small Community

Welcome to Mission. Our population is small compared to the communities that surround us, and that means more services available to newcomers from other counties.  For you,  “The Power of Small” means personal service and no lineups or waiting lists.

From intake to organized activities, there are no lineups here. You’re not a number . . . and often you can be seen the same day you make contact with our office. Our workshops are attended by people just like you, and in a comfortable, uncrowded atmosphere. Whether you are registered in a language session offered in our building, need information on Canadian culture, community events or on topics like banking, housing and transportation, we offer a safe space to talk one-on-one.

How We Can Help You!

Settlement Services

For you, the newcomer, we conduct an assessment of your needs, identify your settlement goals, create a personal, achievable action plan and guide you with referrals to other community organizations who can also help you settle into the community.

We provide you with workshops and opportunities for conversation around topics of interest and importance as it relates to Canada and the community of Mission.  These workshop topics include resources for your job search, housing needs, child care, entry into the school system, information about the health care system and transportation links.

Employment Information

We will refer you to organizations and programs that focus on info and resources related to your job search. We can also provide a career-related mentor through our Connector Program to help grow your knowledge of the Canadian employment requirements for specific career paths.

Life in Canada

When you have questions about life in Canada, we can provide you with information that makes clear Canadian cultures and norms that highlights the diversity of life in the community.

Community Connections
We help you establish friendships in the community, to build professional networks,  and we encourage you to attend community events.
