Seniors Slipper Swap helps prevent falls, injury

Mission Community Services Seniors Department was involved this week with the first Slipper Swap project in Mission, in partnership with Fraser Health, the Division of Family Practice and the Mission Seniors Centre.
Forty-four seniors registered for the program where they received new slippers in return for their old ones.
Aim of the program is to prevent falls at home, thus the potential for injury is reduced.
Seniors who registered but who could not come to the event will have their slippers delivered to them by participating staff members.
Staff from Fraser Health’s Falls Prevention Program were on hand to educate and inform.
