COVID-19 statement by MCSS

A list of MCSS programs affected and details on events either cancelled or delayed, announced the following day, is also listed below.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to be top of mind and we’ve been actively monitoring updates from the Public Health Agency, Fraser Health and the province, to help us manage through this rapidly evolving situation.

Based on the most recent guidance from a variety of sources and in an abundance of caution, we have recommended that all non-essential activities for MCSS be put on hold for a period of two weeks, at which point we will review again.

We understand that the majorit of work we do is serving a vulnerable population and we are committed to continuing the essential services required to meet these needs. We will be doing so using all protocols required by the PHA.

We also advise all of our seniors and other vulnerable community members to use caution when accepting assistance from those you don’t know, especially if they are asking for cash up front. If you need assistance with groceries or other items, call our office and we will direct you accordingly.

We want to ensure that our community members and staff are kept as safe as possible at all times and, especially, during this very stressful pandemic.

We recognize that this is an unprecedented and unique situation and appreciate your flexibility and support. Since we do not have clarity on how long this guidance will be in place, we will evaluate the situation on an ongoing basis and provide regular updates as we receive additional information.

Thank you,

Michelle Puffer

Executive Director
