We have an opening in Food Services for a Cook on a part-time basis. The schedule will be Sundays and Mondays from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
The role
Prepare, cook, deliver, and serve meals including those for special dietary needs and special occasions, in accordance with safety and health standards and the menu plan.
What you’ll do
• Review the meal preparation needs
• Prepare and serve meals at specified times
• Process donations
• Adapt to new cooking, cleaning, and preparation techniques
• Oversee volunteers
• Track and report all food waste
• Attend all mandatory staff meetings
• Perform other duties as required
What you bring
• Grade 10 plus graduation from a program in institutional or residential quantity cooking and at least one-year related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Ability to prepare food including carving, chopping, peeling, cutting, and washing
• Understanding of how to use kitchen equipment in a safe and effective manner
• Familiar with following recipes
• Strong organizational skills
Must have FoodSafe and First Aid certification
