Crowd pleaser: Festival of Light: Diwali on Oct. 24

Crowds at Clarke Theatre for Festival of Light: Diwali say it all.

The multicultural event this year on Oct. 24 will feature additional entertainment features to draw what we hope will be an even larger Fraser Valley crowd.

Just look at these 2017 images from the theatre and in the cafeteria for the free hot ethnic food . . . people enjoy celebrating cultures.

A community bazaar is also part of the festivities in the theatre foyer, and if you wish to participate this year, contact MCSS at [email protected].

Remember there is NO admission charge, thanks to the generous support of community sponsors, including Save-On-Foods, University of the Fraser Valley, SARA for Women, BC government (multicultural branch), District of Mission, A-Jay Construction, United Defence Security, Mission Fire Department, Swing Optical, Clarke Theatre, Mission Rotary, and others who are still coming aboard.

Our volunteer teams are second to none, and we are thankful to the Mission School District leadership students who give us a hand in setting up and taking down.  Thanks to our organizing team, our emcees Kelly Chahal and Satti Grewall, our excellent performers, our community non-profits and the interesting commercial booths that set up every year.

If you haven’t been to Festival of Light: Diwali, come see for yourself.  Mark Oct. 24 (5 p.m. to 9 p.m.) on your calendar! And yes, there are door prizes.
