District Lifetime Achievement Award: MCSS among recipients

Since 1972 Mission Community Services Society’s Christmas Bureau and its volunteers has made a difference in the lives of thousands of vulnerable families by providing festive food hampers and toys at Christmas.

Also, Mission Food Centre has played a key role in making this happen with the support of many, many energetic and passionate volunteers over the years.

It is with excitement that the good work of those involved in the MCSS Christmas Bureau and Food Centre and its teams of volunteers have been selected for a Lifetime Achievement Award by the District of Mission through its Community Service Awards program.  Awards night is set for Thursday, April 23, 7 p.m. at Clarke Theatre.

The poster above shows the extent of exceptional community service in Mission, as demonstrated through the delivery of very special recognition.

For this past year’s Christmas Bureau and Food Centre efforts, MCSS in December recognized the tireless efforts and community generosity which is so meaningful to those who need support at this special time.  A link to that congratulatory story can be found HERE.
