October 24, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Festival of Light: Diwali is set for 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Clarke Theatre, featuring free ethnic food for up to 1,000 people, two hours of live stage entertainment, and a foyer of community/commercial marketplace to browse.

Sanjay Gulati, executive director at MCSS, said: “The fun, family-friendly festival helps Mission and its neighbours become a more engaging, cohesive and knowledgeable community in cultural diversity.”

The night is special because of community participation.  “Life is about eating, dancing, celebrating.  Culture is about understanding, involvement, and exploring the magical differences of people from around the world,” said Diwali organizing team chair, Rick Rake.
