Festival of Light contributors generous

ALL LOGOS

Mission Community Services Society is thrilled with the financial and in-kind support it has received so far for the Diwali: Festival of Light event set for Oct. 26 at the Clarke Theatre.

Among donors providing more than $1,000 support in funding and services are:  The District of Mission, MCSS, Multicultural Unit at the Ministry of International Trade for the BC Government, and the Fraser Valley Hindu Cultural Society.

Generous contributors include the UFV Centre for Indo-Canadian Studies, Mission International Cultural Association (MICA), Mission Association for Community Living, Mission Sunrise Rotary Club, Mission Mid-Day Rotary Club, United Way Fraser Valley, and Mission Literacy in Motion.

MCSS would also like to recognize the support from the Clarke Theatre, Mission Early Childhood Development Committee, Swing Optical and Mission Library.

Media sponsors are the Punjabi Patrika, Mission Record, and Mission What’s On Magazine.

It’s not too late to climb aboard the festival train.  We (MCSS) are still looking for henna artists and ethnic jewelry/clothing DIWALI1 vendors and decorators. Contact Rick Rake at MCSS if you can assist with this or have a suggestion.   Contact Rake at [email protected] or call 604-826-3634.

Serving on this year’s Festival of Light committee are Rake, Pam Alexis, Sanjay Gulati, Satti Grewal, Laura Wilson (with support from federally-sponsored MCSS summer students Chelsea Horsman and Emily Scott).
