Focusing on those we help: MCSS AGM

Annual General Meeting of Mission Community Services Society was a well-attended event featuring videos, reports and short presentations on financial and operational activities.

The annual report produced for the night focused on some of the people who MCSS helps, including Don, a blind senior who enjoys the Meals on Wheels programs and medical/shopping rides; Dean who said his life has been turned around since his arrival at Rivendell, our second stage housing facility in Mission; and Abdullah who arrived in Canada with his wife and five children after experiencing strife in war-torn Syria.

The ECG program, Festival of Light: Diwali, the Christmas Bureau, Food Centre, Haven in the Hollow and our Family and Youth Services were also highlighted.

Roger Dowker handed the responsibilities of the MCSS board chairmanship to Bob Ingram.  The meeting included bylaw changes, Rivendell snacks for the public and the MCS society membership.  Executive director Sanjay Gulati spoke passionately about the work and the people who make MCSS the respected organization it is today.
