Christmas Bureau

MCSS Christmas Bureau is committed to ensuring a joyous holiday season for all Mission residents regardless of their financial circumstances. We understand the importance of creating cherished memories during this time of year, especially for families facing financial challenges. Our goal is to provide essential holiday assistance that includes toys and gifts for children and grocery supplies so families are able to enjoy those memory making holiday meals together. 

Registrations for the Christmas Bureau-Wish Campaign will run from October 27th to November 20th 2025.

Online registrations begin on October 27th 2025 from 12:00 noon.

In person registrations will be carried out between November 17th to November 20th 2025; Monday to Thursday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at MCSS Food Centre: Unit 3-32618 Logan Ave, Mission. We are closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Due to capacity limitations, we request all community members to register online and limit the in-person requests to a minimum. 

All applications will be processed on a first come first served basis.

Pickup Schedule:
Toy shop location: Unit 3-32618 Logan Ave, Mission
By appointment only between November 24th to December 17th
Hours of operation: Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. We are closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Food hamper pickup location: Unit 3 -32618 Logan Avenue, Mission
Walk-In December 8th to 22nd
Hours of operation: Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 4:00pm

A. As an individual or group

  • Volunteer at the Christmas Bureau. Click here to apply.
  • Run a food/toy drive in your neighbourhood. You can also consider contacting your (or family member’s) place of employment, school, daycare, place of worship etc. for a food/toy drive.
  • Make a financial contribution.

B. As a business

  • Collect donations at till or host a food/toy drive at your establishment.
  • Tree/Garland Tags: We will provide ornaments with a wishlist for your customers. Customers take an ornament and go buy the items listed then return the new unwrapped items to one of our drop off locations.
  • Volunteer at the Christmas Bureau. Click here to apply.
  • Make a financial contribution.
  • Sponsor the Christmas Bureau Activity: Christmas Bureau relies on donations from the Community to operate. Help fund specific activities, events, or programs organized by the Christmas Bureau that enable us to enhance the experience for participants and volunteers. You can choose your sponsorship package for the following agency requirements:

– Soft opening breakfast: $500
– Christmas Bureau décor: $500
– Float décor: $500
– Santa and Mrs. Claus: $1000
– Volunteer Appreciation: $1000
– Care packages for MCSS housing residents: $500

Get Support

A. Low income families: can register for the Christmas Bureau Wish Campaign online or in-person: Shop for your family in our toy shop, graciously stocked by our community and pickup your food hamper for a Christmas dinner. Toy Shop pickup is by appointment only. 

B. Seniors (55+) can register online or in person: Pickup your food hamper for a Christmas dinner from the Food Center.

Registration Process

Eligibility:
For food hampers: Low income families and seniors
For toys and gifts: Families with dependent minors (newborn to 18 yrs).

Documents required:
Proof of income: of all adults in the household. Please include bank statements/pay stubs for 3 months (between June to October 2025)/ 2024 Notice of assessment/proof of income assistance.
Photo Identification: Valid government issued Photo ID of applicant and spouse/common law partner (as applicable).
Birth Certificate or BC Medical Card of the dependents.

Please ensure you are ONLY adding dependent children who are in your care. Due to resource limitations, we are not able to sponsor grandchildren.

Priority will be given to online registrations. If you have absolutely no internet access or you are having difficulty completing the online application – there will be an in-person option Monday through Thursday, 9am to 5pm, between November 17th – November 20th. Our team will review your application for eligibility. Filling out the application DOES NOT automatically qualify you for the Christmas Bureau sponsorship/program. A staff member will contact you if we need additional information.

All applications are processed in order of completion. Our team will contact you as soon as your application is approved. If you do not have an email address or phone number, please make sure to check in with our team every 5 to 7 business days.

Toy Shop Opening

You’re invited to one of Mission’s Christmas traditions! Join us on Friday 21st November from 10am – 1pm to at the Christmas Bureau Launch. Connect with our team over a light breakfast, meet Santa and explore the Toy Shop located at MCSS Food Centre: Unit 3 -32618 Logan Avenue, Mission. The event is free to attend; guests are invited to bring an unwrapped toy or monetary donation for the Christmas Bureau.
