THE POWER OF A SMALL COMMUNITY

Welcome to Mission. Our population is small compared to the communities that surround us, and that means more services available to newcomers from other countries. For you, "The Power of Small" means personal service and no lineups or waiting lists.

From intake to organized activities, there are no lineups here. You're not a number, and often you can be seen the same day. Our workshops are attended by people just like you in a comfortable, uncrowded atmosphere.

We provide a safe space to talk one-on-one about the topics and programs that matter to you. From the language sessions offered in our building to key information about Canadian culture. Plus: community events, or topics like banking, housing and transportation.

Sponsorships

Refugee families are already here in Mission. They arrived through a number of sponsorship types, be it government, blended (government-private), or private sponsorship (sometimes referred to as citizen sponsorship). The Mission volunteer effort behind this support has been amazing.

If you are a faith group, a group of five people, or an organization looking to bring a refugee family to Mission, talk to our New-To-Canada Team here at Mission Community Services Society. Pick up the phone and ask for one of our settlement workers.

The information line is (604) 826 - 3634. Our team is known for putting together community forums related to refugee pre-arrival and the integration experience in Mission. We work with various community groups to make the refugee experience for the newcomer families the best it can be.
