Spirit of giving very much alive: Dolls, toques, gifts

MCSS Spirit of Christmas, the one of giving, is very much alive we are discovering during this festive season.

Raman, leader of our Meals on Wheels program, is shown here with colourful donated boxes of Christmas chocolate, baked goods, oranges and tea for all of the Mission Meals on Wheels clients. These boxes went out with the volunteer meal deliveries on Dec. 16. Thanks to Suzan and Lindy who so carefully created them!

The spirit continued as MCSS Settlement worker Annie Charker poses with with donated box of hand-knitted toques for adults and children.

They are available at the main MCSS office on Second Avenue (next to Mission Museum) to anyone who needs one in this
c-c-cold weather.  Act quickly, the toques are going fast.  Call 604-826-3634.

Just after all these donations arrived, a box of six special dolls created by doll artist Mary Hinds of Mission arrived to be given as gifts to newcomer children, clients of our New to Canada programming.

“We wanted to ensure their first Christmas here in Canada is a memorable one,” said Mary.
