Already work has begun on the annual MCSS Festival of Light: Diwali.

The date of Oct. 24, 2018 has been secured with the Clarke Theatre, including its cafeteria and foyer.

Sponsor request letters are being written and sent, and MCSS is awaiting positive responses.

This year’s event features two hours of live stage entertainment, free ethnic food and a foyer of 24 community booths featuring information and sales of specialized cultural items, including clothing.

Some 1,000 people come to enjoy the festivities each year and a team of organizers and volunteers help make it run smoothly.
