Support for Seniors in Mission during COVID-19

Support is available for seniors to stay healthy, connected and engaged through the bc211 province-wide initiative, Safe Seniors, Strong Communities! This partnership with the BC Ministry of Health and United Way allows Mission Community Services Better at Home Program to mobilize aid to seniors in Mission whose vital support systems have been disrupted. bc211 is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling 2-1-1 or filling in an online form at www.bc211.ca. Seniors 65+ can request volunteer help with grocery shopping, meal preparation, and prescription pick-up, or they can receive a friendly check-in call!

In emergency situations, isolated seniors will receive the COVID-19 response services (food hampers, frozen meals or other non-medical essential supplies) as needed. Seniors in Mission are currently receiving wellness check calls daily, however if you are or know of a senior who needs help, please forward us their contact information at 604-826-3634 or 2-1-1.
