CHILDCARE RESOURCE & REFERRAL WORKER

The Child Care Resource and Referral (CCRR) Worker is the public face of the CCRR team, providing resource and consultation services to parents and family-based childcare providers in the Mission area. This position includes providing resources and consultation services to parents and childcare providers and maintaining a referral database. This position requires working collaboratively with colleagues, community partners, parents and childcare providers to ensure smooth operations of MCSS’ Child Care Resource and Referral program services.
What you’d be doing:
• Updates the Provincial CCRR Registry/Subsidy List and the CCRR Provincial website to add/change or delete any Care Provider information.
• Maintain the map of all childcare providers and keep current active Care Provider List for Mission.
• Assists with the preparation of the CCRR Care Provider Registration binder.
• Assists with keeping Child Care Subsidy application papers copied and available to clients.
• Contributes to the CCRR Quarterly newsletter as well as produces newsletters, resource guide, posters
• Manages the Toy Lending Library including computerized inventory list, kit lending, cleaning of toys, cares for toy inventory, etc.
• Assists with Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly stat collection and reporting
• Has Theme/Resource Kits ready to be borrowed by Registered Care Providers and Licenced Centres.
• Facilitate workshops as well as mark and update self paced work shops.
• Keeps inventory lists & Care Provider files current and updates as necessary on computer data base and notifies Care Providers well in advance when documents such as Criminal Record Checks, First Aid and Doctor’s references need to be renewed and files all documentation in each Care Provider’s file.
• Documents all Home Visits and Health and Safety Reviews in Care Providers files including concerns & changes, and ensures the correct forms are used for documentation, according to the CCRR Provincial Standards Manual.
• Prepares information and resources to share with the Care Provider including documenting the visit and follows up if necessary.
• Provides a yearly Health and Safety Review, using the most current forms as per the CCRR Provincial Standards Manual.
• Provides a visit to a Registered Licensed Care Provider if requested and time allows.
• Participates, along with the CCRR Team, in researching and planning Training and Workshop opportunities for Care Providers and parents.
• Participates by attending and/or delivering workshops and training events when needed, in consultation with the supervisor.
What you bring:
• Minimum Early Childhood Care and Education Certificate (One full year) or Diploma
• Minimum two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Successful completion of a criminal record check is required.
• Certification in First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
• Valid B.C. Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance.

Wage: Grid 11 ($27.54-$31.71)
