Christmas Bureau
MCSS Christmas Bureau is committed to ensuring a joyous holiday season for all Mission residents regardless of their financial circumstances. We understand the importance of creating cherished memories during this time of year, especially for families facing financial challenges. Our goal is to provide essential holiday assistance that includes toys and gifts for children and grocery cards so families are able to enjoy those memory making holiday meals together.
Registrations for the Christmas Bureau-Wish Campaign will run from October 28th to November 28th 2024. Online registrations begin on October 28th 2024.
In person registrations will be carried out between November 13th to November 20th 2024.
Due to capacity limitations, we request all community members to register online and limit the in-person requests to a minimum.
All applications will be processed on a first come first served basis. Appointments for toy shop and hamper pickup will be scheduled from 21st November to 18th December 2024; based on completion of documentation.

Get Support
A. Low income families: can register for the Christmas Bureau Wish Campaign online or in-person: Shop for your family in our toy shop, graciously stocked by our community and pickup your food hamper for a Christmas dinner. Two appointments will be booked for December- One for Toy Shop at the Christmas Bureau and one for Food Hamper pick up at the MCSS Food Center.
B. Seniors (55+) can register and avail support in one of 2 ways:
1. Direct support from a sponsor: MCSS will match you with a sponsor who will deliver the Christmas dinner supplies and gifts directly to your door or at a mutually agreed upon location.
2. Register online or in person: Pickup your food hamper for a Christmas dinner from the Food Center.
Registration Process
Eligibility:
For food hampers: Low income families and seniors
For toys and gifts: Families with dependent minors (newborn to 18 yrs).
Documents required:
Proof of income: (i.e., pay-stub or if you get Social Assistance, upload a cheque stub or other proof, like three months bank statements clearly showing entries Province of BC deposit)
Photo Identification: BC ID/Driver’s License
Birth Certificate or BC Medical Card for you and dependents.

In-person registration runs from November 13th – November 20th
Pickup Schedule:
By appointment only between November 21st to December 18th
Food hamper pickup location: Unit 3 -32618 Logan Avenue, Mission
Toy shop location: TBD
Photo ID of the registered contact person is required at the time of pickup.
Please Note:
Priority will be given to online registrations. If you have absolutely no internet access or you are having difficulty completing the online application – there will be an in-person option Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm, between November 14th – November 24th. B. As a business
- Collect donations at till or host a food/toy drive at your establishment.

- Sponsor the Christmas Bureau Activity: Christmas Bureau relies on donations from the Community to operate. Help fund specific activities, events, or programs organized by the Christmas Bureau that enable us to enhance the experience for participants and volunteers. You can choose your sponsorship package for the following agency requirements:
– Soft opening breakfast: $1000
– Christmas Bureau décor: $1000
– Float décor: $1500
– Santa and Mrs. Claus: $1000
– Media/Collateral: $1000
– Gift Cards: $1000
– Christmas tree: $500
– Packaging material for hampers: $500
– Gift bags/treats for children at soft opening and candlelight parade: $50

Donate
All funds raised through sponsorship and donations at the event stay in Mission and bring joy to children at Christmas through food and gifts.
Sponsor a senior
Connect with an elderly member of our community by shopping and delivering their Christmas hamper. The matching process begins mid September and completes at the end of October. You can extend the Holiday Cheer through the following steps:

D. Determine your budget: Refer to our shopping list and determine your budget.
E. Apply to be matched: Fill out the Sponsor Application Form online. Or, if you prefer, download the PDF file and send it by e-mail to the MCSS Christmas Bureau- cbwc@missionmcss.com. Expect a confirmation call or e-mail, from us stating that we have received your application. Contact us (604-826-3634) if you have not received a confirmation within one week. Please note, deadline for the Sponsor Applications is October 31st.
F. Receive a match: We will contact you again to match you with a senior and provide you with their contact information.
G. Call your match: Download the Shopping List and call your senior ASAP to let them know that you are their sponsor. Clarify dietary restrictions/preferences and set delivery date. Record the answers in the space provided on the Shopping List. Please let us know if you are having any trouble contacting your matched senior.
H. Shop and Deliver: Shop as per your convenience and deliver the food hamper and gifts on the pre-arranged date and enjoy meeting your senior!

Christmas Bureau Launch
You’re invited to one of Mission’s Christmas traditions! Join us on Thursday Nov 21st from 10am – 1pm to at the Christmas Bureau Launch. Connect with our team over a light breakfast, meet Santa and explore the Toy Shop. The event is free to attend; guests are invited to bring an unwrapped toy or monetary donation for the Christmas Bureau.
