Donuts, dolls and donations: Craft fair heralds campaign

Mika Brosseau, coordinator of MCSS Mission Christmas Bureau – Wish Campaign (at right in top photo) was all smiles as the first Bureau Craft Fair began Saturday (Oct. 26) at Elks Hall.

Scores of vendors sold everything from lighted decorated bottles to knitted dolls, festive decorations to Krispy Crème donuts as part of the fundraising effort for the 2019 Christmas campaign.

Santa was on hand, and is expected at the soft opening of the Christmas Bureau at its satellite location next to The Source at the Junction Shopping Centre in November.

Mika sold many dozens of the special donuts to those who want to help make Christmas merrier for many in the community.

Check MCSS Facebook page for more images of the Craft Fair and look to MCSS website at www.missioncommunityservices.com under the programs tab (Christmas Bureau) to see how the campaign works.  Next up are registrations for the annual Christmas hamper distribution and the launch of the donations campaign with a target of $100,000. Please give generously.  Mission has always stepped up to the plate in this regard.
